About Flaura

Hi, I'm Laura, the gal behind Flaura Gardens.

I am passionate about locally-grown flowers and love sharing them with the community. I focus on growing unique, specialty varieties that will have you taking a second look and leave you wondering "Oooohh, what is that?". My M.O. is garden party styled arrangements and I love playing with different textures and colours.

I focus on sustainability and it is at the heart of everything I do. When growing flowers, it is all organically done, without the use of pesticides or chemicals. Any inputs I am using are homemade (compost, molasses based tea) or natural and organic (bone meal). When arranging flowers, I employ only foam-free mechanics, wrap bouquets in paper and avoid plastic if not able to be reused.

It has been a long, fun and rewarding journey creating Flaura Gardens on the grounds of our Lakeview home in Mississauga – one that is close to 11 years in the making. Flashback to when it all began, with just a bare backyard, and a dream to not only grow beautiful flowers, but to create a relaxing and  peaceful space for us and our family and friends to enjoy. So come on by and see what’s growing – we’d love to have you!
