What's growing in the Gardens: A Late Summer Update

What's growing in the Gardens: A Late Summer Update

Here we are on September the 5th and I actually cannot believe it!  And although many of you may be thinking of getting that pumpkin scone or sipping on that pumpkin spiced latte (which are both delicious btw) I'm asking you to pause and soak up the beauty that summer still has to offer.  So without further ado, let's take a look and see what's growing in the gardens!

Dahlias galore!  With over 75 plants and a carefully curated selection, I am harvesting dozens of dahlias daily!

Good Lawd, what are those?  Hello lisianthus! They have multiple, layered buds per stem, last 14+ days in the vase and take FOREVER to grow.  You better like them!

Welcome back Feverfew!  After cutting back these cute daisy-like flowers in the spring, they're making a strong comeback to be featured in our late summer bouquets!

Zin City Lives on!  Even though the zinnias have been hit by some of the earliest (but always inevitable) downy mildew I've experienced as a grower, they continue to pump out beautiful blooms!

The True Garden Workhouse is Statice, and I continue to save lots of these colourful and papery blooms for everlasting bouquets.

Still to come, we've got my fave late season filler, amaranth hot biscuits, a few types of fuzzy celosias, more white swan marigolds, strawflower, jewels of opar and hopefully some Japanese anemones, toad lilies and a second flush of yarrow.

Thanks so much for tuning in!  I'll be back again before the month is over!
